[00:00:07.09] A lot of people have the question of how long is it going to take [00:00:10.05] to resolve my case? [00:00:11.09] That's a really difficult question to answer. [00:00:14.02] You can't always rely on either past personal experience or experience [00:00:18.16] that someone that you know has had, because every case is different. [00:00:23.11] Some cases get resolved relatively quickly before we ever even file a lawsuit, [00:00:28.04] but we still need to take the time to gather up medical records [00:00:32.10] and other information. [00:00:33.18] We also wanna make sure that our client is completely either healed [00:00:38.01] or we know for sure what their future medical condition [00:00:41.06] is going to be before we settle a case. [00:00:43.11] Because you don't wanna settle a case too quickly and then find out [00:00:46.23] that you have other injuries that maybe you didn't know [00:00:49.20] in the first few weeks. [00:00:51.01] Once a case is settled, it's settled forever. [00:00:54.00] Sometimes it's necessary for us to take a case into a lawsuit or litigation. [00:00:59.03] In that situation, a case can take two years or longer [00:01:02.09] to get all the way to trial because our courts are crowded. [00:01:05.16] There are lots of cases, especially in larger counties [00:01:09.11] like Tarrant County and Dallas County. [00:01:11.13] The court's dockets are very full of cases. [00:01:14.06] It just takes some time from the filing of your case to get [00:01:17.19] it all the way to the point where it's ready for a jury trial. [00:01:20.08] 98% or 99% of cases settle before trial that's consistent here in our office, [00:01:25.17] I think most cases, 80% of cases, are so settled before ever going to trial. [00:01:30.15] But it's always good for the client to know that if the case does have to go [00:01:34.16] to trial, and some do, that it can take two years or longer [00:01:38.09] to get all the way to the courthouse.
